The current hardship that has led the President to seek support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has made Ghanaians to send their messages to the President about what he should do and what not to do.
It was revealed that, the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has asked the vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to speak to Ghanaians on Ghana going to IMF but a ranking member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has told the President to do this himself.
Currently, it is known that, on the 14th of July, 2022, Dr. Bawumia will speak on Ghana’s decision to seek International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout. But Francis Addai Nimoh a former Member of Parliament for the Mampong Constituency has asked President Akufo Addo to do this himself because Ghanaians want to listen him, his reasons and plans for going to IMF for a bailout.
The NPP guru revealed this to Ghanaians on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen show. He boldly and practically told the first gentleman of the land, Akufo Addo to have the courage and speak to Ghanaians about the IMF program he is taking Ghana to and also talk about the problems or the state of the Ghanaian economy. He added that Ghanaians want to listen to him and not his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr Addai Nimoh said, “Akufo-Addo should have the courage to speak to Ghanaians on the IMF and tell the true nature of the economy as negotiations are underway and so at this moment he should come out and address us because at this stage, he is the person we want to listen to and not his vice president or ministers,”
