The Presiding Member for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong says the second sod cutting for the Boankra Inland Port by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa -Akufo Addo was needless.
According to him, the former President, John Agyekum Kuffour performed the sod cutting during his administration and there was no need for a second sod cutting.
His comments comes after the former MP for Nsuta Kwaman- Beposo, Hon. Kwame Asafo Agyei alleged that, there are moles within the Ashanti NPP caucus who always leak information to the President after their meetings.
The former MP said this is the main reason why Ashanti region is lagging behind in terms of infrastructural development.
He said lack of commitment on the part of some MP’s to help transform Ashanti region especially it’s regional capital, Kumasi contributes to the retrogression of development.
Mr. Asafo Agyei however, called on Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the MP for Suame constituency and the majority Leader not to spare anyone who leaks information to the President after their meetings.
But speaking on Silver fm morning show, dubbed: OMANBAPA with Nana Kwasi Sarpong Kumankuma, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong, Presiding Member for Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly said he will put all blames on the President for neglecting Ashanti region where the party obtains more votes during elections.
He added that, what annoys him most is for the President to carry Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom for the second sod cutting and later abandon the project.
