The Bosomtwe Girls STEM, which emerged in the 1st position in Ghana’s Robotic competition dubbed Robofest Competition 2026, has proudly attained 4th position at the global level in Michigan, USA.
The competition was participated in by 23 countries across the world with 60 teams, including the USA, China, Japan, etc.

Speaking during their arrival at Kumasi International Airport, the robotic teacher at Bosomtwe Girls STEM, Mr Amoako Darko Kofi, after showing appreciation and gratitude for the support from the authorities that promote robotics education in Ghana, also thanked their Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency, Hon Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum, for his tremendous support.

He applauded his students, which represented Ghana, for putting up such a great performance, as most advanced countries came with their powerful technological equipment, but with the little that Bosomtwe Girls had, they were able to place 4th position in the Time Trial World Robofest Championship Bottle Sumo Category.

He called on the government and all stakeholders to support the school with updated technological equipment to attain 1st position in the next upcoming WRO competition.
He also added that 23 countries with 60 teams got to the semifinals, where they were eliminated by Hong Kong, but they still got a $30,000 scholarship to Lawrence Technological University if they would like to further their education there after the SHS education.
A member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Mr Isaac Adom, whose daughter was the leader of the students, Eugenia Nana Adom, in an interview with the press congratulated the contestants and assured them of the Association’s support in their next competition.
The team leader of the students, Eugenia Nana Adom, was full of joy for that performance. She encouraged her fellow female students to discard the idea that science is difficult. She said, ‘What men can do, women can also do, and do it better.’
She promised on behalf of her colleagues and students that they are optimistic about winning the best competition ahead later in the year.
