The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has fulfilled his campaign promise to provide the party with a functional regional office within a few months of assuming office.

Chairman COKA, who was recently sworn into office, has acquired and furnished a new office located at Danyame in Kumasi, which will serve as a central point where elected regional executives can work together to address the concerns of party members and strengthen the party’s activities in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to the media after the launch of the new office, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Kingsley Bonsu Kyeretwie, said the facility forms part of the party’s ongoing reorganisation efforts aimed at creating an accessible and structured system for engaging members.

According to him, the establishment of the office will ensure that party members have a recognised place where they can go to present their concerns, seek assistance, and access services from the regional leadership.

Lawyer Kyeretwie explained that the newly acquired facility is only a temporary office, indicating that the party has plans to construct a permanent regional office.

He disclosed that land for the permanent facility has already been secured at Manhyia Extension.

He said the availability of a regional office would also bring an end to the practice where party members have to follow leaders to funerals, social gatherings and other events in an attempt to obtain party forms, present grievances or seek assistance.

He described the development as an important step towards improving the relationship between the regional leadership and the grassroots, stressing that party members should now have a proper channel through which their concerns can be addressed.

Lawyer Kyeretwie further appealed to NPP members who may have been disappointed by past developments within the party to forgive and put the past behind them as the party begins a new chapter.

He urged members to unite and work tirelessly towards rebuilding the party, saying the collective efforts of the grassroots and leadership would be essential to restoring the NPP to power.

The new regional office is therefore expected to serve as a central point for party administration and engagement as the Ashanti Regional leadership intensifies its reorganisation efforts.
