A latest survey published by the internal research unit of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti region, made up of thirty-four out of forty-seven Constituency Research and Elections Officers
tips Former Vice President, HE Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the winner of the parts January 31,2026 presidential primaries.
The data-driven exercise conducted across all forty-seven constituencies in the Ashanti region
projected the 2024 flagbearer as the preferred candidate of the delegates, commanding a 71%
lead in the region.
The report summarizes months of direct engagements with party delegates across the 47
constituencies by dedicated teams including most electoral area coordinators, who spent ample
time with delegates in their respective electoral areas and polling stations.
Research Methodology
The survey which was conducted between January 3 and 14, 2026, through face-to-face engagements with delegates certified in the voting register across all the forty-seven constituency
of the Ashanti region. This exercises was conducted after the visit of four of the candidates have visited campaigned across the constituencies and sold their messages, including the wife of Hon
Ken Agyapong and Hon Naa Torshie, except in the case of Dr. Bawumia. However, his wife Hajia Samira had also toured the entire region. The confidence level of the research stands at 99% and a
margin of error of ±1.1%
