Election rigging scandal hits Atwima Kwanwoma NDC … As former communication officer demands probe

Former Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency, Murtallah Mohammed, has questioned the credibility of the constituency executive election held recently. He described the outcome as a possible “stolen verdict” while calling for a thorough investigation.

In a statement, Mr Mohammed raised concerns over the alleged failure to exhibit and validate the voters’ album before the polls, the late and selective release of the register and questions about the impartiality of the Electoral Committee.

He also alleged that more than 700 questionable names appeared in the album without proper scrutiny and validation before the election.

Mr Mohammed admitted that allowing the election to proceed without demanding a comprehensive review of the voters’ register was a mistake, arguing that the process should have been suspended until the concerns were addressed. He called for transparency, accountability, and an independent investigation into the allegations, insisting that any proven wrongdoing must attract appropriate sanctions.“We are not opposed to elections.
