The Ashanti Regional Organizer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Francis Adomako, has cautioned Ghanaians, especially first-time voters, not to allow themselves to be deceived by former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections.
According to him, Mr. Mahama, who is also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 presidential election, has proven beyond doubt that even in opposition he is still incompetent.
Mr. Adomako, who is affectionately called Francois, gave the caution in an interview with The New Trust newspaper over the weekend.
He said after so many months that the NDC elected its flagbearer, Mr. Mahama and his NDC leadership had not been bold enough to choose a running mate.
Mr. Adomako recalled that in 1996, the then Candidate J. A. Kufuor selected Alhaji Aliu Mahama as his running mate and selected the same person for the 2000 and 2004 elections.

He said in 2008, the then Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo chose Dr. Bawumia as his running mate. He selected Dr. Bawumia again for the 2012, 2016 and 2020 elections.
The Ashanti NPP Organizer said in the year 2020, Mahama selected Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang as running mate, adding that “if after so many months Mr. Mahama has not been bold enough to state who his running mate is, then it tells the inconsistency in him; he can’t be trusted.”

“If selecting your running mate is even taking you so much time to do it, how much more can you do with just four years left at your disposal?” he asked.
Francois said is it that Prof.Jane Naana Agyemang is incompetent that he(Mahama) doesnt want her anymore or that the number of seats NDC got in addition from the Central region was not enough that is why he cant mention her name again?
Stressing that “if just stating your running mate is problem ,how can such a person be trusted to knowing very well that one can achieve little in 4 years.
Ghanaians don’t have short memory because we are aware that by the time a new Government settle downs ,2 years would have gone.
.The question is what can Mahama do with 2 years left if after 5 months he cant even choose a running mate.the alternative indeed is scary!
