“FIX OBOFOUR ROUNDABOUT STRETCH TO ABATTOIR ROAD”-Residents beg Gov’t

Residents of community 19 and its environs within the Tema west Constituency laments the “hell” they go through to their residents plying the less than 3km deplorable stretch daily.

 

According to residents and Taxi drivers plying the stretch,the journey from shalom spot to abattoir which could have taken less than 5minutes takes 20minutes or more.

 

The stretch from the “Obofour” roundabout through the bridge at Goil filling station to the abattoir is in very deplorable state,leaving drivers with weak shocks anytime they ply the route.

 

The adjourning routes in the community have been fixed and gutters provided on the stretch for drainage,have been abandoned since it was constituted before the the 2020 elections leaving residents to believe the project was done to win votes for the president and the current member of parliament Hon. Carlos Ahenkora.

Residents say it’s the shortest route linking them to Lashibi,but will have to take a longer alternative route to connect due to its bad nature,causing them to spend more on fuel each day in this financial difficult times.

A motorist ,Meimunatu Abubakar,asserted that any time it rains their conditions worsen as potholes on the stretch widens and makes them spend additional minutes on the stretch “those of us living in Community 18 Gate and Community 19 Annex have no option of using an alternative route to our house but pass through it each time we go in and out of our homes.

The residents are calling on government to get the contractor back on site to complete the stretch for its having a toll on their lives and finances..
