A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Ahafo Ano North constituency in the Ashanti region, Mr Fosu Frimpong, has rubbished accusations against him by some constituency executives for allegedly hiring machomen to cause the recent violent disturbance during the party’s polling station elections at Akwasiase.

In a statement dated Thursday, 14th May, 2026, Mr Frimong said, ‘I wish to state clearly and categorically that neither I nor any member of my team sponsored, invited, financed, organised, or deployed thugs or macho men to disrupt the elections anywhere in the constituency.’

Those allegations are false, reckless, and intended to damage our reputation and mislead party members. I also reject attempts to associate certain individuals with my team simply to support a false political narrative.”

According to him, the mention of one Emmanuel Bempong, aka Nautica alone, exposes the dishonesty behind the statement because “everybody in the constituency knows he does not belong to my team in any way.”

This clearly shows that the statement was not based on facts or proper investigations but on propaganda and political bias. I completely condemn the violence that occurred during the elections and wish the injured a speedy recovery.” Mr Fosu Frimpong said politics should never be about intimidation, bloodshed, and hooliganism.

He observed that what is shocking, however, is the selective silence and hypocrisy of the same executives now pretending to defend peace and order.

Mr Frimong recalled that on Sunday, “two of my supporters suffered serious cutlass wounds in the presence of the sitting Member of Parliament, Hon. Agyemang Prempeh (MP), and police officers after I resisted attempts by the MP to sideline party rules and due process.

Yet these The same executives remained silent as if the victims on Sunday, 10th May 2026, were not human beings. or members of the NPP. What a shame! The hypocrisy contained in paragraph 13 of their own statement completely exposes them.

They went as far as identifying only persons they claim are supporters of the MP as victims while deliberately ignoring the fact that two of the persons who suffered serious cutlass wounds on Sunday are known.supporters of mine.

Are they seriously suggesting that the brutal attacks on my supporters in the presence of a sitting MP and police officers are not relevant simply because the victims are perceived to be my supporters?I was personally attacked during the violence by a driver of the member of parliament, Hon. Nana. Agyeman Prempeh, in the full presence of the Ghana Police Service. During the same incident, a A police officer sustained injuries while preventing the said attack on me. This is a matter of record and The police can attest to it.

Yet the executives deliberately ignored these incidents and rushed to issue a one-sided propaganda statement to create a false impression.Again, the individual accused of inflicting the cutlass wounds on one of my supporters is known within the constituency to support the MP politically. There have also been public concerns raised by some party members about his activities and associations in Tepa.

It is therefore surprising that the Executives ignored these concerns while attempting to present themselves as neutral before the public. It is also widely known in the constituency that some of these executives have openly aligned. themselves with the Member of Parliament.

They have allegedly been warned by their paymaster not to accept any support from me or members of my team. On previous occasions when I attempted to support party activities, my support was rejected. It is, therefore, dishonest and hypocritical for the The same people accuse me and my team of not supporting the organisation of the elections. Their statement is nothing more than a propaganda drive,” he added.
