Friends of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, who is also the Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, have donated educational materials and assorted drinks to seven thousand (7,000) schoolchildren in about 15 public basic schools within the Manhyia South Constituency to celebrate his 56th birthday.

The friends of the MP, who is popularly known in the political space as Napo, made separate presentations to the various schools on Thursday, 23rd May 2024.

The Friends of Napo, drawn from the Greater Accra Region and Kumasi, joined the schoolchildren within the Manhyia South Constituency to celebrate the birthday.

They cut a birthday cake and prayed for Napo to achieve greater heights in his political career and wished him long life with good health.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Nana Ama Tima Boakye, made the presentations on behalf of the Friends of Napo, to the Cluster of Schools to celebrate his 56th birthday.

According to her, Friends of Napo, made up of businessmen and women, politicians both in Accra and in Kumasi, Manhyia South Constituency executives, polling station executives, among others, came together to celebrate and honour him in a special way, hence their donations to schools in Manhyia South.

“We decided to donate educational materials, including pens, pencils, exercise books, assorted drinks and birthday cake to about 15 public basic schools made of about 7,000 kids for all of them to have the feeling of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s birthday.
It’s also to encourage and motivate the kids to study hard to reach greater heights like him (Napo), who started his education in the constituency,” Nana Ama Boakye said.

Madam Michelle Acquaye, the Headmistress of St. Louis Demonstration JHS, who received a donation on behalf of her school, heaped praises on Friends of Napo.

She said she was not surprised at the donation because Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh himself had been a great blessing to schools, especially his frequent support to the provision of quality education.

“We’re most grateful for your kind gesture and may the good Lord bless you for your good intentions and we pray for long life and good health for Dr. Napo,” she added.

Freda Owusu, on behalf of the kids and staff of the school, prayed for Napo.
