The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the academic calendar for Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) for the 2026/2027 academic year, outlining schedules for both single-track and transitional schools.Ghana tourism packages

In a statement issued by the GES on June 1, the GES urged parents, students, teachers, and school administrators to take note of the dates and prepare adequately for the upcoming academic year.

“The Management of GES wishes to inform parents/guardians, students, and the public that the academic calendar for Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) for the 2026/2027 academic year has been finalised,” the statement said.

Under the single-track system, Form One and Form Two students will begin the first semester on September 18, 2026, and remain in school until January 29, 2027, before proceeding on vacation until March 29, 2027.

The second semester will run from March 30 to July 30, 2027.

Form Three students in single-track schools will start classes on September 18, 2026, and end their first semester on December 18, 2026. After a vacation period ending January 31, 2027, they will return to school on February 1 and complete the academic year on June 18, 2027.

For transitional schools, Form One students will alternate between in-person and online learning. They will begin in-school studies on September 18, 2026, before moving to online learning from November 16 to December 18, 2026. Following a break, they will return to school from February 8 to April 16, 2027, and resume online learning from April 19 to May 14, 2027.Source:William Narh
