The newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer for the 2024 presidential election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised not to disappoint the party and the country as a whole if elected as the next President of Ghana.

He has, therefore, appealed to all Ghanaians to join the NPP in the journey of possibility. According to him, the NPP is the best option in 2024.

Speaking at an ‘outdooring’ ceremony organised by the party at the Accra Sports Stadium to declare the winner of the presidential primaries on Saturday, 4th November 2023, Dr. Bawumia indicated that the real work of breaking the 8 had just started.

He said he was humbled and overwhelmed by the confidence reposed in him by the delegates of the party.

“We would break the 8 in unity and rule in unity,” he assured his party members. He added that breaking the 8 is more than a slogan.

He seized the opportunity to thank President Akufo-Addo and the party for the biggest opportunity given to him to serve as running mate, vice-president and now the flagbearer and leader of the NPP.

He thanked former President John Agyekum Kufuor who first appointed him as the deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, among others, for their inspiration and support.

Besides, Dr. Bawumia commended Members of Parliament, regional, constituency and polling station executives for their support as well as his campaign team for the victory.

“I can assure you that I shall not disappoint you,” he promised.
