The Paramount Chief of Prang Traditional Area in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, has declared that he will be happy if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) wins the upcoming general election or retains power to continue its good works.
He said the Akufo-Addo administration had done enough for Ghana, especially for the good people of Prang, and he would not be surprised if the “break the 8” mantra became a reality.

Nana Kwadwo Nyarko spoke to this paper when the Vice-Presidential Candidate for the ruling party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, paid a courtesy call on him and his elders at Prang recently.
He was convinced that the projects and policies being undertaken by the government nationwide were geared towards poverty reduction, and he would not be surprised if Ghanaians translated it into votes in the December polls.
According to him, Prang has received its fair share of the national cake and believes that if the party retains power, it can do more for them.
Pranghene further explained that it was through the Akufo-Addo administration that the Pru West District with its capital, Prang, was carved from Pru East.
He pointed out that it takes a number of years to build a new administrative district office if a new district is created but for Pru West, the administrative office was completed in a twinkling of an eye.
He said the district had also benefited from the One District, One Factory (IDIF) programme for the processing of starch which would start soon.
According to him, Prang inner roads have received a facelift as the contractor is busily working every day to make life easy for his people.
Nana Kwadwo Nyarko also mentioned the Prang water project and an Agenda 111 hospital project for which he credited the Akufo-Addo government.
According to him, he is not being political but he is ready to commend any other government that also will come and initiate projects for the good people of Prang.
He said the fact that he was praising the NPP government didn’t imply the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government did nothing for them.
He indicated that the NDC government initiated a girls’ dormitory project for Prang Senior High School but left it uncompleted before leaving office in January 2017.
On his part, Dr. Opoku Prempeh thanked Pranghene and his elders and assured them that the NPP would continue to support the district if it won power in the upcoming general election.
He believed the people of Pru West would continue to vote for the NPP in order for the party to continue to implement more human-centred policies.
