On the morning of Friday, 21st November 2025, the campaign team of Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong experienced a close shave on the Tema Motorway while traveling to Aflao as part the campaign tour of the Volta region.
The team was on its way to meet with party members and delegates from Ketu South, Ketu North, Akatsi North, Anlo, and Keta constituencies. Around 6:51 AM, near the exit to Community 18, traffic slowed briefly. The KAA convoy, made up of three vehicles ,a Ford F-150 in front, followed by the candidate’s car and a trailing Toyota Land Cruiser, reduced speed in response.

An Articulator truck coming from behind, unable to stop in time, swerved onto the shoulder to avoid crashing into the rear vehicle in the convoy. In the process, the truck clipped the Land Cruiser’s side mirror and eventually crashed into a concrete barricade that was part of the ongoing road construction on the Tema Motorway. The impact severely damaged the truck’s engine.

Thankfully, no injuries were recorded, and none of the convoy vehicles suffered serious damage. After ensuring that all team members were safe, the convoy continued its journey by 6:58 AM.
It was a really narrow escape. Ing. Agyepong and his team remained calm and focused, choosing to continue their outreach mission to party delegates without delay.
The campaign team expresses deep gratitude to the Almighty God for the safety of all involved and appreciates the many messages of concern received throughout the day.
