KING ZUBA ON ONE YEAR OF SERVICE, IMPACT & A RENEWED COMMITMENT TO KUMASI

Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi (King Zuba) Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi writes✍️

Exactly one year ago today, I was deeply humbled and overwhelmingly endorsed by the Honourable Assembly Members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to serve as the Metropolitan Chief Executive—Mayor of our great city, Kumasi.

That moment was not just an endorsement; it was a solemn call to duty, a mandate to serve, and a responsibility to lead with integrity, vision, and purpose. I accepted this role fully aware of the expectations of our people and the urgent need to reposition Kumasi as a modern, resilient, and inclusive city.

Over the past year, together with the Assembly, stakeholders, and the good people of Kumasi, we have taken bold and decisive steps toward transforming our city. From improving sanitation and decongesting key commercial areas, to enhancing infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and promoting urban order, we have remained focused on delivering real, measurable progress.

We have worked tirelessly to restore discipline in our city, strengthen local governance, and create opportunities—especially for the youth. Through collaboration and shared responsibility, we are gradually building a Kumasi that works for everyone.

While we celebrate the gains made, I am fully aware that the journey is far from over. Challenges remain, but so does our determination. The vision of a cleaner, safer, more prosperous Kumasi continues to guide every decision we make.

As we mark this one-year milestone, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the Assembly Members for their confidence, to our traditional authorities for their guidance, to our hardworking staff, and to every resident of Kumasi for their patience, cooperation, and support.

The task ahead demands even greater commitment. And I assure you—my resolve is stronger than ever.

Together, let us continue to build the Kumasi we all desire.
