Hon.Patrick Kwame Frimpong, Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) PM writes
I was honoured to receive an invitation to participate as a panellist in the discussion titled “A Global Platform for Local Africa”, held in New Orleans, USA, and organised by TIFA, the Tourism Investment Forum Africa.
During the session, I shared insights on how film, festivals, and the visitor economy can generate employment opportunities and help preserve our cultural heritage.

The panel included distinguished guests such as Alana Horis, Deputy Director of Arts and Cultural Economy at the City of New Orleans Major Office; Oscar Rainey, President of Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club, USA; Dr. Eddy Khosa, Chairperson of the Tourism Transformation Council, South Africa; Samantha Muna, Managing Director of Triamum Hospitality in Kanye; and was moderated by Poppy Nsthonywana of Broadcast and Podcast Channel Africa, South Africa.
I emphasised during the event that ” a festival is a temporary market that turns culture into cash.”
