The Krofrom East electoral area Assembly Member, who doubles as the Presiding Member (PM) for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr Patrick Kwame Frimpong, has donated a 50-inch television set for New Tafo primary school Kindergarten (K-G) to facilitate teaching and learning.

The donation was in response to a request that the school authorities made a few months ago to him to help ensure quality and standard instruction for the kids.

Mr Frimpong, who is also the Dean of the Association of Presiding Members in the Ashanti region and NALAG’s national first vice chairman, made the donation to the school on Thursday, 10th September, 2026.

The headmaster of New Tafo Primary School (division school), Mr Austin Opoku Boateng, received the item on behalf of the school.

The Krofrom East Assembly Member also distributed assorted drinks, biscuits, and toffees to the K-G 1 & 2 kids as well as Primary 1 to 3 pupils while encouraging them to take their studies very seriously. According to Mr. Frimpong, he received a request from the school authorities for a replacement of the television set for the kindergarten class.

He decided to use his share of the assembly member’s electoral area assistance funds from the Internal Generated Fund (IGF) to buy a brand new 50-inch television set for them. Besides, he has also hired a designer to draw necessary sketches in the classroom to facilitate teaching and learning to the kindergarten pupils.

He, therefore, used the opportunity to call on the government through the Ministry of Education to give much attention to the basic school infrastructure and resource allocation.

“I have observed that for many years now the attention of the government and the Education Ministry has been more on the second cycle and tertiary education level at the expense of the kindergarten and basic school level, which is the foundation of the education.

He said if the country were serious about producing quality graduates, much attention should be given to the kindergarten and basic school levels without neglecting the second and tertiary levels.

Mr Patrick Kwame Frimpong also appealed to stakeholders, especially parents and guardians of pupils/students in public basic schools, to contribute their quota since the provision of quality education is a shared responsibility.

He commended the teachers for their commitment to duty and urged them not to relent. Mr Austin Opoku Boateng, the headmaster of New Tafo Primary School, heaped praises on Mr. Patrick Kwame Frimpong for his constant support to the school and others in the area.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of New Tafo Primary (division school), We wish to express our profound gratitude to you for your constant support to this school and others. Indeed, you are the only reliable and dependable helper as far as educational materials and resources are concerned.

May God richly bless you and give you a long life with good health to continue to support us,” he added.
He pledged that the 50-inch Samsung brand television set will go a long way to facilitate teaching and learning for the kindergarten pupils.
