A Kumasi-based media organisation – Meyɛ Asante com – has adjudged Manna International School at Bremang UGC in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti Region as the best basic school in the region.

Based on a survey carried out by the media organisation, Manna International School emerged first ahead of other nine(9) schools in the region which were among the top ten(10) schools.

The KNUST Basic School occupied the second spot, followed by the Grace Baptist School at Amakom, while Martyrs of Uganda at Santasi and Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Preparatory School at Ahinsan placed fourth and fifth respectively, according to the survey.

The rest of the schools among the top ten best schools were Hilltop International British School at Ahodwo, New Mission Academy at Kwadaso Agric, Salve Regina at Abuakwa Cannan, Humpty Dumpty Day School at Ahodwo and Vicande at Asuoyeboa.

The survey was based on the consistence of the academic performance of the schools, coupled with their participation in various quiz competitions at both regional and national levels.

Over the years, Manna International School has been participating in quizzes such as the Junior Challenges, Junior Shark, KNUST’s Maths and Science and Luv FM’s Primary Quiz.

In 2022, Manna won three(3) trophies at stake within two months from the aforementioned competitions except the KNUST’s Maths and Science.

The school made a major national headline as the only basic institution in the country to have won the Junior Challenges trophy for three consecutive times and the Junior Shark competition back to back in 2022 and 2023.

Speaking to “The New Trust” newspaper, the Director of the school, Pastor Michael Mensah, explained that the survey, which placed his school at number one position as the best basic school in the region, did not surprise him because he has employed qualified, dedicated and friendly teachers who teach effectively.

“Our motto, ‘Service to God, service to mankind’ has always remained our watchword,” he noted.

He praised the management of the school for their hard-working spirit which has made the school one of the best in the country.

According to him, since its establishment two decades ago, the school has nurtured students with sterling character traits who are contributing to the development of the country in their various fields of endeavours.

He revealed that teachers, especially those at the junior high school (JHS) level, have been relentlessly preparing students in JHS 3 to come out with flying colours in the 2024 BECE.

He disclosed that most of the JHS graduates from the school gain admissions to first-class secondary schools in the country.

Pastor Mensah, therefore, urged parents who want high-quality education and training for their children to choose Manna International School.
