The spiritual head and President of Tijanniya Muslim Council, Sheikh Ahmed Faidi Abdullai Maikano says he foresees death ahead of him.

He has therefore advised his followers to be calm and give thanks to Allah if it comes to pass.

He said his death is not going to be a natural but rather artificial one. Addressing his followers during this year’s celebration of Maudi at Prang, the District capital of Pru West in the Bono East Region, Sheikh Ahmed Maikano said he has been receiving threats over a long period of time but nothing has been done to trace and arrest the perpetrators.

He said threats on him started when the NDC was in power and the same threats are still coming under the present government.

According to him, what annoys him most is that people have tagged him and his followers as being affiliated to NPP and for that matter the vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and expect the officials to act and deal swiftly on the threatening messages he has been receiving.

He noted that all his efforts to get these people arrested have fallen to deaf ears. This pronouncements by Sheikh Maikano came as a shock to his followers which turned the event grounds like a funeral event.

Sheikh Maikano entreated his followers to prioritize their welfare and also use the event to renew their faith with Allah.

He charged them to work hard as it is the only way to progress in life. He also charged them to send their children to school in order to take leadership position in the future.

On his part, the Vice President, Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia in an address read for him by Hon. Abdallah Banda, former MP for Offinso South said they should continue to live in peaceful with other religious faith in order to Foster unity.

He said it is only through this that Ghana can growth in its developmental agenda.
