Mrs. Rita Adjei, the Manageress of the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre, who received the items on behalf of the institution, couldn’t hide her joy.

“I’m short of words. Dr. Napo, as we speak now, we’ve run out of many food items and indeed you’re God-sent…We’ll always remember you in our prayers during our devotion…” she said.

Speaking to the media later, Mrs. Adjei enumerated a number of challenges the centre had been facing; she, therefore, appealed for support.

According to her, the centre currently feeds about 190 students with different disabilities, for which reason it would need regular support like that of Napo, adding that the centre needs major improvement to make it disability-friendly, including expansion works to help it enrol persons with disabilities in the society.

“We’re in dire need of a school bus to enable us to embark on outdoor activities,” she stressed.

Joel Alhassan, on behalf of the inmates, led a powerful prayer for Napo and his family members who accompanied him.

The testimonies about Napo’s kind support and consistent donations to the Kumasi Cheshire, which is very close to the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre was not different.
The home, which is also a non-profit organisation, takes care of adult persons with mental health problems.

The Public Health officer, Mrs.
Harriet Osei-Owusu, also reiterated that Napo had been doing that three times every year for the past 20 years.

“All we can say is thank you (Napo) and may God continue to bless you and your family to enable you to continue to support the needy,” she added.

The former Energy and Education Minister, who is known for his humanitarian support, said, “I always pray to God to continue to bless me to enable me to support others, especially the needy in society.”

According to him, he first visited the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre about 20 years ago during his medical school days and since then he has been supporting the institution in various ways.

Napo took time to interact with both staffs and students of the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre, Kumasi Children’s Home, as well as the inmates at the Kumasi Cheshire Home.

He also commended the staffs of the various institutions for their dedication and commitment to service.
