Despite repeated assurance that he was in control of the election and things could turn in his favour as the counting continued, John Boadu, incumbent NPP General Secretary has been defeated.
John Boadu got 1,086 votes while Justin Kodua polled 1,606 votes, MyNewsGh.com confirmed.
The Electoral Commission is however yet to announce final, official results.
John Boadu who earlier appeared too sure of himself ahead of the contest told journalists he would win.
He however was defeated by Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua who swept almost all the polling stations including all the Ashanti Region polling stations.
Certified results put Justin Kodua ahead of John Boadu by more than 500 votes.
