NPP NYO Position; Senior Research Fellow Predicts Win for Michael Osei Boateng

NPP NYO Position; Senior Research Fellow Predicts Win for Michael Osei Boateng (POPE).

As the days left for the upcoming ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) national executives’ elections gradually draws closer, some key party contestants have emerged as grassroots choice.

Without doubt, the elections for the Youth Organizer position is tipped to favour the candidate with grassroots experience and are expected to be the surest in breaking the eigth (8), as the NPP’s mantra seeks to say.

As the campaign reaches its peak, political researchers have began making projections.

The case of this year’s NPP Annual Delegates Conference is not different.

Researchers mainly asked about which of the contestants were popular in the party and could therefore lead the NPP to make history in 2024 by winning a third consecutive national elections.

A Senior Lecturer and Director of Research of the Kumasi Technical University’s Institute of Research, Innovation and Development, Dr. Smart A. Sarpong, a Data Scientist, who’s predictions can never be swept under a carpet is in the news again.

In his recent interview With ‘Ekosisen’ on ‘Asempa’ FM said, generally, most of the party’s delegates had made up their minds already, with regards to who they would cast their ballot for in the Youth organizer position during the polls.

According to Dr. Sarpong, his data convincingly predicts that delegates have shown their readiness to work with Micheal Osei Boateng, popularly known as POPE, an aspiring National Youth Organizer of the party.

According to his research, unvalidated data available to him indicates clearly that, Pope took a commanding lead, followed by Abanga Yakubu Fusani, Salam Mustapha and Prince-Kamal Gumah in that order. He further indicated that Abanga and Salam will get substantial votes; but the case of Prince-Kamal will not be same, hence he needs to work more.

As immediate past Regional Organiser of the Ahafo region, the prediction didn’t come as a shock to many because, the National Youth Organiser hopeful, Pope has the charisma to turn the fortunes of the youth in NPP around if giving the nod.

Known as a grassroots person, POPE’s intention is to resource the disgruntled youth who he described as the downtrodden in the NPP is a call in the right direction.

Micheal Osei Boateng is noted to have said, the youths form a large percentage of Ghana’s population and what he has realized is that there is a big gap between them and the government.

To this end, he wants to live by his name by bringing hope to the youth.

His past records has won the heart of constituency officers and some grassroots communicators of the party, who willingly, traveled with him across the country testified of his good works as a Regional Youth Organizer and subsequently Organizer, expressing hope that he would do more when elected as the national youth organizer.
