Kwame Agyenim Boateng, a journalist with OTEC 102.9 FM, has led an initiative to raise GH₵11,200 to support brilliant but needy students through his annual “Back to School Campaign”.
This year’s campaign, done in collaboration with the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies, focused on tertiary-level students.
The campaign saw generous donations from benevolent individuals and groups, including Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Fampem, CEO of Fapem Constructions; Kwaku Owusu Boateng KOB, host of OTEC FM’s morning show; Paa Frank a philanthropist at Kunsu ; Akakpo Gerhard; and Mama Unice.

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Kwame Agyenim Boateng presented the donated funds to the SRC executives, who then paid the fees for the eleven selected students.
Expressing gratitude to the donors, Kwame Agyenim Boateng urged the students to utilize the opportunity to learn for a better future.
“We are thrilled to support these brilliant but needy students. We hope this gesture will inspire them to work hard and achieve their academic goals,” he said.
SRC’s Appreciation and Call for Support
SRC President Dickson Mensah thanked the donors for their kindness, revealing that the student body has a scholarship account to support needy students.
“We appeal to corporate bodies and individuals to support us in our mission to provide educational opportunities for deserving students,” he said.
This heartwarming initiative showcases the power of community support in empowering students to achieve their academic potential
