Prang SHS in dire need of infrastructure to meet current students population -Nana Kwadwo Nyarko begs govt to intervene

The Paramount Chief for Prang Traditional area in the Bono East Region, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, has urged the government to prioritize the infrastructural needs in Ghana’s educational system.

He said, educational sector trains and nurtures labour force to drive Ghana to achieve her aspirations.

Nana Kwadwo Nyarko,made the call in an interview with “The New Trust” Newspaper recently .

The chief was particularly concerned with the current state of Prang Senior High School.

According to him, he single-handedly established the school some years, ago when he was a Mathematics tutor at Sunyani Secondary School.

According to him, he started the school with only six students. He explained that, things were then hard for him but with determination and encouragement, he accomplished his mission.
Pranghene noted that,the school can now boost of two thousand students population and there are more need to be done in the school to enhance effective teaching and learning.
He explained that, the school needs dormitories to contain the growing students population.
He said, currently some classrooms have been converted into boys dormitories.
” Inadequate dormitory blocks at Prang SHS, has compelled some boarders to push their trunks and chop boxes outside “. he lamented.
According to Pranghene, he appreciates the efforts of the previous governments but urged the current administration through the GETFund to come to the aid of the school.
He said, Prang SHS is one of the prestigious schools in Ghana and there is the need to provide all the necessary infrastructure to merit her status.
” I wish I could personally tackle the problem now but it is beyond my strength “. he added.
