This facility will go a long way to assist Prang to accelerate growth and development. At the celebration of this year’s “Nkyifie Yam Festival” at Prang, the district capital for Pru West, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko acknowledged the efforts of chiefs and people of the area for their unflinching support for the past sixty years since ascending on the stool as Prangmanhene.

He said, though he has been a frontrunner on every single project initiated in the area, credit must also be given to his sub-chiefs who have been supporting him with their ideas as well as the entire community.
He explained that it has been a huge task to lead people with different attitudes and cultural backgrounds for the past sixty years, but God has been so good; his leadership styles and sociological background have made him accomplish his vision. On his achievements for the past sixty years, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko mentioned and explained that he had introduced grand durbar on Saturdays and thanksgiving on Sundays as compared to the celebration of the programme which took place only on Fridays previously. He said,
‘This has impacted positively, as people from far and near throng to the area to learn culture, boosting business activities and also doing fundraising to support developmental projects.’ Nana Kwadwo Nyarko said he had also lobbied for the improvement of feeder roads in the area; notable among them are the Labon-Nchamba road, the Aboa-Akrakuka road, the Nakpei junction-Beposo road, the Prang inner roads, and the Prang-Abease-Kintampo road.He noted that, to boost revenue for the district to get more funds to embark on projects, he had played an instrumental role in the construction of Prang market through an NGO, GTZ, in the year 2006.
According to him, the Education Endowment Fund was created in 2002 but became inactive because of a lack of enough funds to sustain it. He said he wished this initiative could have lasted longer so as to assist his people mostly in the area of education.
According to him, plans are underway to look for the alternative means to revive the initiative so that the needy but brilliant students can get financial support to further their education.Nana Kwadwo Nyarko also mentioned that it was through him that Prang was connected to the national grid of electricity.
He said, before 1998, the health facility at Prang was just a dispensary, and not being satisfied with the dispensary as a result of the huge population of Prang at that time encouraged him to lobby and upgrade the dispensary into a health facility. He said his main headache now is the uncompleted Agenda 111 hospital at Prang.
He said the project is strategically located, as it could handle referral cases from districts like Pru East, Atebubu-Amantin, and Sene East and West when completed.Nana Kwadwo Nyarko humbly appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to complete the project in order for them to access quality health care delivery.
The Omanhene of Dormaa Traditional Area, Nana Agyeman Badu, who chaired the event, was very grateful to Nana Kwadwo Nyarko for taking steps to embark on numerous projects that have impacted positively on his people.
He said chieftaincy is not about dancing in a palanquin but taking steps to address the socio-economic needs of your people, which Prangmanhene has demonstrated.
He urged the people of Prang to continue to support Nana Kwadwo Nyarko in order to do more for them.
