The former Ashanti Regional treasurer of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Richard John Nkrumah, has appealed to the holders of state offices to do away with corrupt acts which is the major issue confronting the nation.
He said holders of these offices are taken great advantage to loot the country and also collecting bribes from poor people before they render them services.
Rev. Nkrumah explained to this paper that corruption in the country is becoming fashion which should not be so. The former Ayigya head pastor of the Bethel Assemblies of God Church, said “we should have nationalistic ideas and character in order to move the nation forward”.
He said it is very unfortunate that the leaders prioritize themselves first before the nation. Rev. Nkrumah said though Ghana encountered series of challenges in 2022 that made the cost of living very hard for its citizens.
He said some of these challenges like dollar depreciation gradually stabilizing Ghanaians should continue to pray for God to intercede for them to make standard of living enjoyable. Rev. Nkrumah, said he sees 2023 as a year of blessings and urged all to contribute their quota irrespective of their political, tribal and regional differences.
He praised the individuals in the country who are single constructed companies not only for absorbing the youth to reduce the unemployment rate but also increasing the productivity of the country.
He urged others who have the means to follow the right steps of these people since the government alone cannot shoulder this responsibilities.
According to him, it sometimes baffles him where “we wait for the government to construct a small project for a community while we can do it with our own efforts.
