Some NPP members allegedly frustrate Alan K’s health-walk

Some organisers of the campaign walk embarked on by the members of Movement for Change in Kumasi on Saturday, 19th October 2024, are blaming some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for frustrating their efforts on mobilising more supporters than what they recorded.

According to them, some personalities within the ruling NPP deliberately thwarted their plans, which included busing fans from far and beyond to the city to partake in the walk.

They specifically mentioned the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore and Campaign Co-ordinator for the Middle-Belt Regions, Dr. Ayew Afriye, and the Aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Andy Owusu, as being directly responsible for the frustration.

They said it took months and weeks for them to make plans for the walk which was expected to shake the stronghold of the ruling party than never before and also activate the influence of Mr. John Alan Kyerematen ahead of the December 7 polls.

Some of the organisers said the NPP feeling jittery about how such massive crowd could dampen the spirit of their support base in their stronghold, connived with some individuals to put impediments on the way of their supporters.

“Look at how we struggled to even get Metro Mass buses to convey our people from the various destinations, but we paid them for everything,” one of the angry organisers recounted.

The organisers have, therefore, threatened to expose the NPP in the coming days for that wicked plot against them.

According to them, they recorded an appreciable attendance, yet their expectation of a huge attendance couldn’t be achieved due to the frustration unleashed by the aforementioned personalities.
