The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ordered prospective parliamentary aspirants, their agents and supporters to immediately halt all campaign activities, warning that violations could attract disciplinary action and affect their eligibility to contest in the party’s primaries.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party said it had received complaints that some members seeking to contest parliamentary seats had begun campaigning in various constituencies ahead of the official timetable for the process.

The NPP said the activities contravened its regulations and Code of Conduct, created an uneven playing field, and threatened the unity and discipline required for the party’s success.
The directive covers all campaign activities intended to promote prospective aspirants before the party announces the timetable and guidelines for its parliamentary selection process. The party has directed all aspirants, their agents, and supporters to “cease all forms of campaign activities”.
Prohibited activities include mounting posters, billboards, banners, and other branded materials, organising rallies and constituency tours, and holding meetings with polling station executives to solicit support

The directive also bars the distribution of items or other inducements to delegates and party members, as well as paid media and social media advertisements promoting individual aspirants.
The party said the measures were intended to ensure fairness among prospective candidates and prevent premature campaigning from creating divisions within its ranks.Source:Kabah Atawoge
