Dr.Gideon Boako, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North constituency in the Ahafo region has stated unequivocally that what happened on Thursday, 18th September, 2026,in Tano North was not just an act of kindness. It was a long-held dream come true.

According to him,this dream was greatly influenced by his own background — as a young boy whose dreams were held hostage by poverty and lack of resources. Something that nearly prevented him from going to Senior High School(SHS).

Dr. Gideon pointed out that thankfully, with the support of family and destiny-changers and by God’s abundant grace, “I survived the difficulties from Bomaa to Bechem Presec and became who I am today”.
He posted on his Facebook page that “what I did yesterday, by the grace of God, was to give back to my younger brothers and sisters in multiples of what others did for me years ago.
The chop boxes, exercise books, school bags, and calculators given to the over 2,000 SHS entrants were just my little token to the students and their families.My prayer is that the good Lord who blesses the little to make it bigger for generations will bless these young ones to realize their dreams and become a blessing to others’,he explained.
Dr. Gideon Boako also announced the MP’s scholarship scheme for tertiary students in the constituency, further extending his educational support to students beyond the SHS level
The Tano North MP observed that it was such an honour to have H.E. Samira Bawumia presents to support this important initiative and put smiles on the faces of our young brothers and sisters.

Speaking at the event, Hajia Samira Bawumia pledged her unflinching support to the students and encouraged them to prioritise their education and personal development. She also urged parents to support their children in whatever little ways they can, complementing the assistance provided by the MP.
Parents and students expressed their profound gratitude to Dr. Gideon Boako and Hajia Samira Bawumia for the intervention, noting that the support would help ease the financial burden associated with preparing their children for SHS.
