The Campaign Coordinator for Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, in the Ashanti region, Dr. Ayew Afriyie has predicted an emphatic 90% electoral victory for the Veep in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential elections scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, 2023.

According to Dr. Ayew Afriyie, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Effiduase-Asokore constituency of the NPP, Dr Bawumia has over the years built the requisite relationships within and outside the party, relevant enough to support his vision and aspirations.

Speaking to the press in Kumasi on Friday, Dr. Ayew Afriyie, confidently stated that the Vice President is a team player with unique leadership skills that easily attracts intellectuals to him and all manner of persons to him.

“As I predicted before the supper delegates conference that Dr Bawumia would win and indeed he won. On a good day he is going to win with a little over 90% and on a worse day he will do better than the supper delegate’s conference” the campaign coordinator asserted.

He further stressed: “We do have a tried and tested robust system in place and I can confidently state here that even in a worst case scenario, Dr. Bawumia will get 87 percent. And on the best case scenario, we can cross up to 93 percent. So best scenario, worst case scenario, the error of margin is plus or minus three percent (3%).”

On why the Vice President remains the best bet among the contestants, Dr. Ayew Afriyie further disclosed that Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has well thought-through messages which he believes have sunk well into the hearts of delegates in the Ashanti region and the remaining 15 regions.

The Vice President, before embarking on this venture, respectfully, approached people and built lasting relationships with people so he has a great team, “and this should tell you that Dr. Bawumia and his team will not resort to intimidation to get the numbers.”

Again, the Effiduase MP observed that his candidate is a man of his own and “most of us Member of Parliaments got certain about Dr. Bawumia long before he declared his intention to contest. I appreciate his sense of analysis and intelligence”, further stressing “most of the MPs are also in love with his humility and teamwork. He has his messages and Dr. Bawumia is not the kind to be influenced if you don’t get your facts right”.

He has therefore appealed to the 34,987 delegates in the Ashanti region to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with their votes this weekend.

According to the campaign coordinator, Dr. Bawumia needs the support of the Ashanti region, just as they did for Dr. Adu Boahen and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the past.

Ending, he noted: “Ashanti supported Adu Boahen and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and they won and we believe that the good people of the region will help the Vice President to succeed in his quest to lead the NPP”.

The NPP’s presidential election on Saturday, November 4, 2023 will elect a flagbearer to represent the party in the 2024 general elections.
