The Akyeamehene of Juaben Traditional Area in Ashanti region, Nana Dr Appiagyei Dankawoso I, has urged Christians to maintain deep, uncompromised spiritual connections with Christ rather than seeking power elsewhere.
He said this intimacy actively fosters spiritual growth and serves as a bond between man and His maker.

Nana Dankawoso, who was the chairman during the 20th connexional biennial delegates conference of the Association of Methodist Church Choirs, said the intimacy with God is essential for true spiritual life, moral integrity and effective leadership.

According to him, this requires consistent practices such as prayer, scriptures reading, meditation, worship and fellowship. He explained that choir members and worship leaders are uniquely positioned to shape culture and drive moral renewal.

He said, Music is not just a form of entertainment or an element of Sunday worship; it is a powerful tool for social, spiritual and ethical transformation.

Nana Dankawoso said music, apart from fostering a shared identity and a collective commitment to goals, can also speak out against corruption, poverty, prejudice and systematic issues, echoing the messages of the biblical prophets. He noted that, as a choir member, a lot has been learnt from the songs apart from getting him closer to God; it has also renewed his faith and his physical and spiritual duties, like payment of tithe and generosity.

Nana Dankawoso advised that, as a Christian, they need to be kind and generous so as to bring the smile to the face of the poor.

In line with this, he said he has been doing donations to over 500 widows in Kumasi Children Home, Bawjiase Children Home, Potters Village at Dodowa, Nsawam and Kumasi Prisons. According to him, he is not trying to display his wealth through these donations but a sign of being appreciative to God and also obliged, as enshrined in the Holy Bible.
