We need a united front to recapture power in 2028 – Former Ashanti NPP treasurer urges supporters

By Charles Ampong

The former Ashanti Regional Treasurer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Zeinabu Sallow, has disclosed that, with unity, hard work and determination, the party would surely bounce back to recapture power in the 2028 general election.

She has, therefore, charged all the regional executives elected, especially in the Ashanti Region, to work harder to bring all party supporters on board to make the party easily win the upcoming general election.

She explained that unity among party leadership and supporters is pivotal for any political party to win power.

She said the newly elected Ashanti Regional executives are highly experienced, as they have all heard constituency positions and have actively been involved in party activities and know what it takes to reunite aggrieved supporters in order to win back power easily.

She disclosed that the newly elected NPP chairman for the region, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, is a seasoned politician, and there is no doubt that he, together with his team, would fail the region and Ghana as a whole.

The defeated regional 2nd vice chairperson said President Mahama’s led government has woefully failed the nation as goods and services prices are soaring every day. According to her, the nation is messed up, and it is only Dr Bawumia who can rescue and position Ghana in her normal state.

She said the poor performance of the party in the 2024 general election was not as a result of Akuffo Addo and Dr Bawumia not doing well in terms of initiating projects but as a result of the party’s inability to propagate these projects to Ghanaians and the COVID-19 pandemic, among others.

The three terms regional treasurer of the party urged the party members to bury their differences and work as a team to recapture power from the NDC.
