YEJI WATER PROJECT EXPECTED TO BE READY BY END OF 2022-Pru East DCE assures

The District Chief Executive ( DCE ) for Pru East in the Bono East Region, Hon. Abdullai Adams has urged his people to continue to have faith and rally behind him and the government to accelerate growth and development in the area.

He said President Akufo-Addo’s led government is determined to initiate more developmental projects in Ghana for which Pru East would get her full share of national cake. He told this paper that, there are numerous projects initiated by his predecessor, Hon. Joshua Kwaku Abonkra and the ones started by himself which they’re working on. He explained that work is steadily going on Yeji water project and is expected to be completed before the year ends.

He said though, the project was initially projected to be completed in August 2022 but there were circumstances beyond the control of the contractor hence few delays.

The DCE said pipes have been connected into the Pru River to the main reservoir and believes that water problems facing the town would be a thing of the past as soon as the project is commissioned.  Hon. Adams said his next target on the water issue is that he will make sure all the surrounding communities of Yeji also get potable drinking water.

On roads, the DCE said it’s still remained his priority and that plans are far advanced to improve  upon road networks in the area.

Hon. Abdullai Adams

He particularly touched on the Yeji – Konkomba road and main kyalewate road within Yeji market. On Agriculture, he said since the area is predominantly farming area, the Assembly is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that farmers are given the necessary support so that they can produce more for  the country.

The DCE reacted on the allegations that the committee responsible for the premix fuel hoard them and later sell at expensive prices to fishermen. He said Yeji has more landing sites and because of that it has booming market as compare to other communities. He said those communities with few landing sites do not have boom market and for that what they do is sending their premix fuel to Yeji and sell. He said when this happened people get the notion that the premix fuel is been hoarding and selling illegally.
