The chief of Dunkwa – on – Offin in the Central Region, Okofrobour Dr Obeng Nuako III, says he wants to leave a legacy that would transform the socio-economic lives of the people of the town.
He said that for the past 20 years of his enlistment, he has embarked on a number of numerous projects and is still counting. Celebrating 20 years of excellence in leadership under the theme “20 years of God’s grace and protection for development,”
Dunkwahene said it takes a grace to come to this far, and there is the need to show appreciation for how far God has brought him. He said he has been able to solve disputes and differences between his people, which have resulted in peaceful coexistence among them.
On projects, Dunkwahene revealed that he has renovated the Dunkwa Secondary Technical School block and named it after him.
According to him, for his continuous support for Nyanokrom Basic School, it has also been named after him. Okofrobuor Obeng Nuako said he has also been financially assisting the district inter-school football competitions.
He said he has also provided the Dunkwa government hospital car park. He said numerous pieces of assistance have also been given to Dunkwa Nursing Training School. He further explained that vast land has been given to the Ghana National Fire Service to build their office, where he has also provided sands and chippings, while similar land has also been given to the Mineral Commission to build their office.
He said there was a time the portion of Offin Bridge Road developed potholes, which it took his personal intervention to mobilise tipper truck drivers to fill the potholes.
According to him, he has also built an ultra-modern palace to serve his people. “For now, I’m fighting for the university to be established here to make Dunkwa a first-class town in the country.” He added.
