The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, has urged the newly elected Ashanti Regional Executives of the party led by Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) to leverage the massive support they’re currently enjoying to maximise votes for the victory of the party in 2028.

According to him, if NPP and Bawumia were to win power, the region, which is the party’s stronghold, would have a lot of work to do to turn their fortunes around.

“You are all aware that NPP depreciated in the votes we obtained in the 2020 election as compared to 2024, and we need to change the narrative. On behalf of the national executives of the party, I’m tasking Ashanti Regional executives to work extra hard to maximise votes for Dr Bawumia. ”

Adding that “Ashanti Region must lead the charge to help Bawumia win the 2028 general election.”

Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, who is highly tipped to retain his seat as the General Secretary of the NPP, made the call on Sunday, 6th September, 2026, at a thanksgiving service organised by the newly elected Ashanti Regional Executives to thank God for a successful election.

The thanksgiving service, which brought together the bigwigs of the party, including former and current executives, former CEOs, former Ministers of State, incumbent, and former Members of Parliament, was on the theme “A Heart of Gratitude; A Life of Praise”.

The Thanksgiving service held at Gracefields Temple-Havillah City Temple Ahodwo in Kumasi was characterised by singing and dancing to show appreciation or gratitude to God.

JFK, as he’s affectionately called in political space while commending the region for a successful election on behalf of the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and National Executives, also appealed for unity.

He reminded the new regional executives that they’ve a lot of work to do to win back all the votes the party lost in the 2024 election and win more votes.

“The victory of NPP in 2028 will be determined by the Ashanti region. We’re therefore giving you (COKA and executives) a target of more than 1.5 million votes. ”

JFK,therefore, cautioned against divisions and disunity. Adding that “I have realised that all the 47 constituency executives are in support of your administration, and I’m expecting you to build on this support and bring everyone on board to ensure a resounding victory for NPP in 2028,” he added.
