Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) has made a passionate appeal to the National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, aka General Mosquito, to show leadership by calling his party members to order.
According to the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman for the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, it appears the NDC boys have refused to pay heed to President Mahama’s plea for them to stop attacking offices and innocent people across the country.
In a Facebook post on Monday, 13th January 2025, COKA wrote: “As chairman of NDC, you (Asiedu Nketia) must show leadership and call your boys to order.”
According to him, one of the best transitions so far in Africa has been done in Ghana. “Videos of looting, gun use, harassment and sacking people from their homes and offices are not good for the country. Business, tourism, and investment will suffer in the end,” he stated in his post.
He, therefore, reminded the NDC national chairman that “our democracy is now in the hands of your political party and its leaders. We need peace in the country.”
The full statement has been reproduced below:
Dear General Mosquito, with humble appeal, please ask your party members moving from office to office to stop what they are doing. It looks like the NDC boys are refusing to take the plea from President Mahama for them to stop attacking offices and innocent people.
As chairman of NDC, you must show leadership and call your boys to order. One of the best transitions so far in Africa has been done in Ghana. Videos of looting, gun use, harassment, and sacking people from their homes and offices are not good for the country. Business, tourism, and investments will suffer in the end. Our democracy is now in the hands of your political party and its leaders. We need peace in the country. God bless Ghana. Coka, I care.
