The Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is expected to commence a three-day campaign tour in the Ashanti Region on Monday, June 10, 2024.

As part of his campaign programme, Dr. Bawumia will first meet the Ashanti regional executives of the NPP, government appointees, Members of Parliament (MPs), parliamentary candidates, the regional council of elders, council of patrons, constituency chairmen, former regional executives, former regional council of elders, former council of patrons, former government appointees and former MPs at the True Vine Hotel at about 8 a.m.

At 10 a.m., Dr. Bawumia will meet all paramount chiefs and queens in Ashanti at the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs Secretariat in Kumasi to present his vision to them ahead of the launch of his campaign manifesto for the upcoming general election.

After having a meeting with the traditional leaders for about two hours, the Vice-President will again meet the clergy at Mckeown Temple before he meets the Muslim leaders at 1:30 p.m. at the Kumasi Central Mosque.

The Vice-President will also meet and greet traders at central market at about 3 p.m.

Dr. Bawumia is expected to wrap up his first day campaign activities at the True Vine Hotel where he will meet professional bodies, such as the Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Bar Association, Ghana Journalists Association, University Teachers Association, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Coalition of Concerned Teachers, Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Surveyors, Ghana Association of Society of Medical Physics, Nurses and Midwifery Association, Institute of Chartered Accountant of Ghana, Ghana Institute of Planning, among other bodies.
