The newly elected Nhyiaeso sub-metro chairman and Ridge Nhyiaeso Assembly member with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Hon. Abraham Boadi, aka Opooman, has encouraged BECE candidates not to entertain fear but to gather boldness to write their exams.”I am urging all of you to go and make us, your parents, teachers, community, and yourselves proud by passing well in the BECE exams.

The 400 unique mathematical sets embedded with two pencils, a pen, a sharpener, colours and other items estimated at over ten thousand Ghana cedis ( Ghc 10,000) were presented to Adiebaba, Danyame and State Experimental Basic Schools’ BECE candidates.Opooman, who’s also the former KMA Presiding Member, said the donation of the unique mathematical sets is to serve as motivation to the candidates.

He explained that this time round, due to limited resources, he only managed to distribute the unique mathematical sets to the three public basic school candidates, but plans are underway to cover all candidates in both public and private schools within the Ridge Nhyiaeso electoral area next year.

“I’ve also instituted bursary scholarships to reward the needed but best BECE candidates who will pass well to cushion parents ahead of SHS admission.

The Ridge Nhyiaeso Assembly member announced that plans are underway to reward teachers who have impacted the students in a unique way so as to motivate them for others to emulate.

“My outfit has been interacting with the students, and they’ve revealed how some teachers are committed to helping them improve their academic performance, and such teachers need to be motivated; hence, I’m instituting a teachers’ motivation scheme starting next year.”

The beneficiary BECE candidates and their teachers couldn’t hide their joy as they heaped praises on Opooman for his timely donation of unique mathematical sets for them.

At State Experimental Basic One, which was the last point of the separate donations ceremony by Opooman, Madam Joana Anokyewaa, head teacher of State Experimental Basic One school, on behalf of the candidates and their parents and teachers commended Hon. Abraham Boadi for his kind gesture.

She seized the opportunity to entreat other stakeholders and residents there to emulate the kind gesture of Opooman.

The headmistress appealed to the assembly to use his good office to lobby for them to get plastic chairs for their assembly hall.

The headmistress commended parents and the staff of the school for their commitment to duty and encouraged them not to relent in their efforts.
