There was a big jubilation amid drumming and dancing by the chiefs and people of Wiamoase in the Afigya Sekyere South district of the Ashanti Region as MTN Foundation commissioned its first Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) library for the community.
The Chief of Wiamoase, Nana Boakye Yiadom I, on behalf of the community, commended MTN Foundation for the initiative.

The chief, therefore, advised the students to embrace digital literacy and make use of the facility to learn digital skills.
Besides, he advised the school authorities and students to cultivate maintenance culture so as to ensure the longevity of the library.
Mr Robert Kuzoe, Head of MTN Foundation, explained that the state-of-the-art STEM library had been designed to equip students of Wiamoase and those in nearby communities with IT skills.
The library, which is the first of its kind in the Ashanti Region, forms part of the corporate social responsibility initiatives of MTN Foundation.

The library is equipped with robotic equipment, laptops and desktops to support STEM education.
Mr. Kuzoe announced that similar libraries had been commissioned at Mamfe, Dansoman, and Akim Oda.
According to him, MTN Foundation is committed to improving education and other important sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
He revealed that the Foundation currently focuses its attention on three key areas, namely education, health and economic empowerment.
He took the opportunity to encourage students to make the most of this opportunity provided to learn digital skills.

He added that the Foundation aims at providing Ghanaian students with the same advantages as their peers in more privileged areas.
