COKA swears in appointed deputy regional executives & others…urges them to work hard in unity

Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), the newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has officially sworn in appointed deputy regional executives and other appointees in line with the party’s constitution, urging them to work in unity.

The Ashanti Regional executive appointments were done in pursuant to Article 9,clauses 2 and 10 of the NPP constitution,2025,as amended.
According to him, with unity of purpose, they (NPP) will be able to unseat the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), which is not living up to the expectations of the majority of Ghanaians.

The Ashanti Regional executive appointments were done in pursuant to Article 9,clause 2 of the NPP constitution,2025, as amended.

“As I have been saying, let’s all put behind us the regional contest and work together to ensure a resounding victory in 2028. Your work starts immediately, and we’re expecting you to bring your experience and expertise on board as we work assiduously to ensure NPP and Dr. Bawumia’s victory,” he said.

COKA, as he is affectionately called in the political space, made the call during a swearing-in ceremony on Monday, 7th September 2026, at the newly secured Ashanti Regional NPP office at Danyame in Kumasi.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman gave each of the appointees the party’s constitution and urged them to study it diligently to guide them to work effectively in their respective roles, stressing that “each of you has a specific role to play, and we’re expecting you to live up to expectations.”

He also advised them to adhere to the party’s constitution at all times so as to maintain the needed discipline. He said they would all report to the regional secretary, who would also report to him.

Dr Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the party, stressed the need for unity.

Francois, as he is popularly known, charged the appointed executives to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in them by the elected executives led by COKA.

“We’re appealing to you to accord the chairman and other executives the needed respect. Don’t come and roll shoulders at your colleagues or substantive executives. We also need to give the needed respect to the rank and file of the party at all times,” he emphasised.

He advised the executives to always notify him or let him know of their proposed programmes and activities so as to help him keep the chairman informed at all times.

On his part, Mr Abubukar Razak, the Regional Nasara Co-ordinator, also urged all officers to accord each one the needed respect as they work together to win power.

“Let’s share experience and consult one another whenever the need arises in our determination to recapture power,” he added.

On behalf of the appointed regional executives, Mrs Victoria Nyarko Owusu-Achiaw expressed their profound gratitude for the confidence reposed in them.

She, therefore, pledged their unflinching support and readiness to work assiduously to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The appointed regional executives, who swore the oath of office and secrecy, were Alhassan Abubakkar, (deputy organizer),Sylvia Amaning Kwarteng Sarkodie -(Deputy Women’s organizer),Kwaku Boateng -(Deputy youth organiser),Mrs.Victoria Nyarko Owusu-Achiaw (Financial secretary),Abdul Basit Mohammed (Deputy Nasara coordinator). Others were Prof.Sampson Anomah (Research Officer),Shadrack Obeng Yeboah ESQ –(Legal Affairs Officer),Ntim Twumasi Kwaku (NTK) -PWD coordinator, Joseph Osei -(Special Duties Officer) as well as Patrick Acheampong (Electoral Affairs Officer) respectively,
