Kumawu MP supports young learners with educational materials

As part of his commitment to ensuring the provision of quality education to every child in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kumawu Constituency, Mr. Ernest Yaw Anim, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment by fulfilling a promise he made to reward hard-working learners in basic schools across the constituency.

The MP has distributed school bags and textbooks to top five performing learners in every class from primary 1 to primary 6 in all schools within the constituency.

This initiative, according to Mr. Anim, is designed to encourage academic competitiveness, reward diligence, and inspire young learners to take their studies seriously from an early age.

Each beneficiary received a package that included subject-relevant textbooks and durable school bags aimed at easing the burden on parents and promoting effective learning.

Speaking during a brief ceremony to mark the start of the distribution exercise, Mr. Anim emphasised that children are the most valuable asset of the nation, and investing in their education is the best way to secure a brighter future for Ghana.

“We cannot build a strong society without a strong educational foundation. By rewarding our children who excel academically, we are not just recognising their efforts—we are sending a clear message that hard work pays off and excellence will always be supported,” he added.

Mr. Anim further advised the learners to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their studies. He encouraged those who didn’t receive awards this time not to lose heart, but rather they should work harder in subsequent terms, as the gesture would be repeated to benefit many more in the future.

The initiative has sparked excitement and admiration across the constituency, with many parents and educators applauding the MP for keeping his word and showing practical support for education. Teachers in particular described the move as a much-needed morale booster not just for learners but for the entire school system.

“Hon. Anim has shown true leadership. His actions will motivate both learners and teachers to give off their best,” a head teacher remarked.

Parents also expressed gratitude for the support, noting that such interventions relieve them of financial pressure and also motivate their children to study harder.

The MP’s latest action is part of a broader education-focused agenda he has committed to since assuming office. In addition to supporting learners with learning materials, Hon. Anim has pledged to continue to invest in school infrastructure, teacher motivation, and scholarship schemes to ensure no child in Sekyere Kumawu is left behind.

His commitment to youth development and education continues to earn him admiration and trust among the constituents, especially at the grassroots level, where the impact of such initiatives is deeply felt.
