Let’s all ensure peaceful elections – COKA appeals to Ghanaians

Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region, has made a passionate appeal to all Ghanaians, especially the youth, to ensure peaceful general election on Saturday, December 7.

COKA made the appeal at a church service in the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency on Friday, November 29, 2024.

According to him, the need for respect and civility throughout the electoral process cannot be overemphasised.

“We’re not going to fight; we’re not going to insult one another. We’re going to exercise our kokromoti power (right to vote),” he said.

He, therefore, urged all eligible voters to turn out in their numbers and vote responsibly.

Besides, COKA reminded Ghanaian citizens that the Electoral Commission officers are all Ghanaians or fellow citizens. They should, therefore, be treated with the utmost respect.

The former Afigya Kwabre South NPP chairman said, “Let’s give the needed respect to the electoral regulations and the officers at the various polling stations. They’re our relatives, friends, husbands and wives.”

This year’s election is anticipated to be highly competitive, with the ruling NPP facing a strong challenge from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
