The leader and founder of the Caravan of Prayer Outreach Ministry at Gyinyase in the Asokwa Municipality of Ashanti, Apostle Johnson Ackah Braimah, has expressed his candid opinion on the recent proposals by the Constitutional Review Committee to the government.

While the Committee chaired by Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh proposed reducing the eligibility of presidential age from the current 40 years to 30 and the government approving 35 years, Apostle Johnson Ackah Braimah, however, opted for 50 years.

He explained that while the government and other stakeholders support 35 years to broaden opportunities for younger leadership and youth participation in national decision-making, especially governance, Apostle Braimah sees it differently.

He said maturity plays a crucial role in effective governance, particularly at these crucial times when Ghana needs a strategic reset.

According to him, it is important to understand the fact that mature individuals bring wealth of experience and wisdom to decision-making processes. He noted that seasoned individual presidents can offer insights based on past successes and failures, guiding the administration towards more informed and prudent policies and choices.

According to Apostle Braimah, when the public sees a mature individual leading the nation as the president, it instils a sense of confidence and reassurance that the governance structure is in capable hands. On the proposal by the Committee to hold a general election in November instead of December, he said it is a step in the right direction.

According to Apostle Braimah, this would give the Electoral Commission, political parties, and other stakeholders more time to prepare for the polls and to facilitate a smoother transition. He said that general elections disrupt Christmas activities, and these changes would go a long way to normalise things during Christmas seasons.
