The Executive Director of JANAI Empowerment Foundation, Madam Faustina Mensah, has made a passionate appeal to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and individual citizens to support Ghanaian pupils in various basic schools with enough textbooks to help empower them with reading skills.
She expressed worry over how some parents find it difficult to buy approved textbooks for their children, hence the need for NGOs and individuals to support the government to promote quality education.
Madam Mensah made this appeal when the foundation launched a “one student, one textbook” project at Santasi M/A Basic School in Kumasi.

The foundation used the occasion to present textbooks to pupils from both Fankyenebra M/A Basic School and Santasi M/A Basic School.
The Headmistress of Santasi M/A Basic School, Mrs. Emilia Abraham, on behalf of the pupils, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the foundation.
She encouraged other NGOs, groups and companies as well as individuals to emulate the good example of JANAI Empowerment Foundation.
