WHY IT’S POLITICALLY UNWISE TO MAINTAIN MR JOHN BOADU AS GENERAL SECRETARY, NPP*
Indeed, the rank and file of NPP Patriots were made to believe in the experience of Mr John Boadu but luckily time has exposed the “self acclaimed experience man” .
Unfortunately, under Mr John Boadu’s watch as General Secretary of NPP the following unpardonable issues have engulfed the Elephant fraternity without an end.
POOR LEADERSHIP
The leadership skills of Mr John Boadu has further aggravated the challenges Party officers and members go through. His leadership style is weak and lacks innovative ideas to bring everyone on board.
INDISCIPLINE
Indiscipline is the order of the day all because of lack of assertive and proactive leadership by Mr John Boadu. The Party is unattractive due to the discipline that has engulfed the Party at all levels with impunity. Some Party officers misbehave and feel like “Tin gods” to be cautioned .
PARTY GRASSROOTS ARE DISGRUNTLED
Party officers and members are disappointed and dejected due to the huge gap between the Party and Government. Under the watch of Mr John Boadu, he has succeeded in widening the gap between Party and Government relationship which should have been worked on to give hope and confidence to Party officers and Patriots.
NO PARTY MEMBERSHIP CARDS
Again, under the watch of Mr John Boadu the membership cards of Party officers and Patriots have all expired. This is so disgusting to believe under the leadership of Mr John Boadu as the Chief administrator of NPP.
For close to 5 years now no strategic plan has been put in place to register members whose cards have expired and even register new members for the Party to know its core members.
THE PARTY LOST 32 SEATS
The New Patriotic Party NPP before the 2020 Elections had a clear majority in Parliament and worked smoothly without too much challenges. But after the 2020 Elections our Party lost 32 seats to the NDC all under the watch of Mr John Boadu as General Secretary.
Mr John Boadu failed woefully to organize a free and fair internal Party Parliamentary contest which some were unhappy and it really showed during the 2020 Elections when we lost 32 seats and our popular votes reduced by half. This shambolic and abysmal performance really caused our Party in implementating certain key Government business in Parliament with a lot of struggle due to the reduced numbers.
POOR MOBILIZATION AGENDA
Mobilization which is key in every institution as it paves the way to bring everyone on board for a viable front. Under the watch of Mr John Boadu, he has failed woefully as Chief administrator to work closely with other officers to mobilize, re-energize and to galvanize the Grassroots.
NO WELFARE PACKAGE
The welfare of Party officers and members can’t be gloss over because they play an instrumental role to the success of the Party.
Unfortunately, under the watch of Mr John Boadu as General Secretary the Party can’t boast of a working welfare fund to look after Party officers and Patriots who continue to work wholeheartedly for the Party. The sad thing is that former Party officers are not been catered for and they are left on their own upon the sacrifices made to the Party.
Dear delegates and Patriots, let’s put our personal interest aside and look critically at the above mentioned administrative lapses on the Party of Mr John Boadu and vote for a candidate with fresh and innovative ideas to change the face of the Party for good.
Infact, it’s not out of hate or disrespect to Mr John Boadu but we all have seen the current situation our Party is going through without strong and efficient leadership to curb it.
Mr. John Boadu is tired and out of innovative ideas to continue as General Secretary and maintaining him based on the “self acclaimed experience” will cause the Elephant fraternity, NPP. It’s politically unwise also to maintain him as our General Secretary with the abysmal performance exhibited.
In conclusion, why is Mr John Boadu relying on only experience to convince delegates and Party members as the best to lead again when he knows very well that he has failed woefully. He should have respectfully followed the footsteps of Chairman Fredie Blay and Mr. Sammi Awuku for fresh and innovative thinkers to take the mantle of leadership for renewed hope and prosperity.
The Party needs firm, assertive and strategically minded characters to face the NDC as the saying goes “coming events case their shadow” . The 2024 Elections can’t be dilly dally with the same approach that was adopted in the 2020 Elections.Source:
