The 2028 Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has held a closed-door meeting with newly elected Ashanti Regional Executives of the party.

The meeting was aimed at uniting vision, strengthening grassroots foundations, and advancing the party’s shared commitment to progress ahead of the next general elections.

The Ashanti Regional Executives led by its chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah who form the leadership of the party’s biggest stronghold, used the occasion to reaffirm their unflinching support for Dr. Bawumia, describing him as the best hope for the NPP’s resurgence.

According to sources close to the meeting, discussions focused on rebuilding party structures from the polling station level, re-energizing the base, and ensuring inclusiveness in party activities.

Dr. Bawumia, in his remarks, congratulated the new executives on their election and charged them to lead with humility and dedication.

‘I’m behind, so let’s work for victory’, the former Vice President reportedly said stressing that the future of the NPP rests on a united and well-motivated grassroots.

“The Ashanti Region remains the heart of our party. If we get the grassroots right here and across the country, victory in 2028 is assured. Let us unite, work hard, and put the party first,” Dr. Bawumia is reported to have told them.

The executives, on their part, pledged to work tirelessly to consolidate the party’s support base and ensure total unity among all factions within the region.
