Samira Bawumia, wife of Vice President and Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Monday, assured trainee teachers and nurses that, it is only under an NPP government that can protect and safeguard their monthly allowance (alawa).
According to the 2nd Lady, the party has demonstrated greater commitment with the reintroduction of their alawa, adding that trainees can only be rest assured when the ruling party is retained, with Bawumia as the president of the country.

Mrs.Bawumia, gave the assurance during her interaction with Queens, Female heads of Institutions, Free SHS graduates Association, Christian Organised groups and market women at the Agogo Presbyterian Women College of Education.
Her meeting with the students, the Seventh of the 8 days tour of the region, which took her to the Asante Akyem North constituency.
In her view, since it is the NPP that eventually reintroduced the monthly stipend, they remain the best to continue to give such financial support to trainees.
She, therefore, warned that any move to replace this government in the December elections will not only enhance the cancellation of their allowance, but further discourage potential trainees from accessing the Training Institutions.
Samira Bawumia appealed to the young women and the queen mother’s to massively vote for her husband, as he has what it takes lead the country.
The Regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, affectionately called Chairman Wontumi, especially, reminded the queen mothers of how they struggled in order for their wards to access Senior High School education.
