The General Overseer of the Overcomers Royal Ministry Worldwide at Abrepo – Bronikrom in Kumasi, Prophet Dr. Eric Osei Frimpong, has strongly opposed to the decision by Ghana’s Parliament to pass the Narcotics bill for the cultivation of marijuana for what it termed as “industrial purposes “.

He said in as much as marijuana could be used for industrial purposes, the Parliamentarians should have considered the idea that the youth in particular could also take advantage of this to have more access to it use. Prophet Frimpong in an interview observed that, already there is high rate of youth intake of marijuana and now that the law is passed, it is going to open more avenues for them.

According to him, though the Bill is passed into law and it is not late for Parliament to come out with proper modalities for the cultivation of the marijuana.

He said though, he don’t support the idea behind the passing of the Bill but once it had been passed, it has becomes issue of national concern which every Ghanaian can have his or her say in the matter.

He said the government and for that matter Parliament should give license to individuals who will sorely produce the product else the unscrupulous persons would manipulate the system.  Prophet Frimpong said, the youth are the future leaders and their lives must be protected at all times.

Asking whether there is hope for Ghana looking at the economic hardships, Prophet Frimpong said there is hope if leaders change their mindsets. According to him, some leaders have an intention to come to power, loot the country and misuse the little resources to the disadvantage of ordinary people. He said Ghana has no excuse to be in this poor state because God has blessed us with fertile lands coupled with natural resources.

He noted that, Ghana now needs leaders who have a common goal of developing the nation and put aside their personal interest.
In his special message, Prophet Frimpong urged all Ghanaians to repent and put their trust in the Lord since He is destiny changer. He also urged Ghanaians especially Christians to remain steadfast in their faith in order to ensure the current situation.
