The government has been told to review the procedure and celebration of National Farmers Day in order to make a positive impact on Ghanaian society.
The call was made by Mr John Senya, the Chief Executive Officer of Senya Farmers at Aduamoa in Ashanti.
He pointed out that the motive behind the celebration of this event is being defeated, and something must be done to restore it.

He criticised that there is no need for some districts to organise and celebrate the event because these districts are not involved in any kind of agriculture.
He said, some districts like Suame, Kumasi Metro, Accra Metro among others do have land to engage in any farming activity and rather be cut off from the celebration and pump the monies for them into agriculture dominated districts like Ejura, Sene East and West, Pru East and West, Atebubu- Amantin, Sefwi Bodi, Asunafo South, Salaga, Chereponi and others.
He said the government must also put measures in place to make agriculture more attractive for the youth. According to him, it is only this sector that can address the unemployment rate in the country.
