CHIEF ANOKYE (MAESTRO) WRITES TO CONDEMN THE FIRING OF GUNSHOTS BY MP’S SECURITY AT OUR 2ND VICE’S ONE WEEK RITE GROUNDS*

Our fallen Patriot S.K. Appiah Affum served the Elephant fraternity in all selflessness and dedication. Starting as a Serial Caller for the party in the early 2000, he went ahead to become the Constituency’s Communication Officer for Old Tafo between 2009 and 2017.

In April last year, the good people of Tafo, Pankrono and Adabraka rewarded his effort for the party by electing him to the 2nd Vice Chair position of the constituency.

As fate will have it, our brother and colleague painfully departed from us on the 26th of December last year.

Yesterday, marked the One Week Rite of the fallen patriot.

In fact the occasion was graced by dignitaries, party functionaries and sympathisers from far and near.

Some scenes from the week rites
The party’s highly esteem General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, our respected Regional Executives and also representatives of Hon. Dr. Addo Kufour were all present.

Internally, the Chairman of Old Tafo Constituency, Chairman Rambo together with his hardworking executives, the MCE, Hon. Lord Innusah Lansah, the MP Hon. Ekow Vincent Assafuah and all Polling Station Executives were also present.

The event was a highly successful one that saw all dignitaries from outside the constituency leave the event grounds peacefully.

After all the invited guests had left and it was time for our Hon. MP to leave the grounds, the security detail of our Hon. MP in an unwarranted, needless, highly irresponsible and unprofessional manner fired gunshots in the presence of the harmless party faithfuls and mourners.
Absolutely nothing necessitated that unprofessional conduct from the Police Officer.

These same harmless party people in whose presence the the unprofessional Police Officer fired the shots had peacefully led our MP to greet at the event, and had stayed peacefully with him at the event.

I would want to at this point register my utmost displeasure in the action of the unprofessional Police Officer.

The atmosphere arround the event grounds had been a peaceful one all day but for that unfortunate gunshots.

I write to caution the MP’s Police Officer against such acts in subsequent party functions and gatherings.

Let the peace that Old Tafo Constituency has enjoyed since ages continue to exist.

Thank you.
